The Lights Must Go On at the Yarmouth Clam Festival, ME

It was the 50th Annual Yarmouth Clam Festival this year in Yarmouth, Maine, and I was so delighted to be part of it! This festival is known for it’s many activities. Not only do they have a fantastic variety of artist and craftmen, but theyalso offer rides, food, music, a huge parade, fireworks, competitions, and many more events!

I loved my location at this show! I was set back from the main street, which for me was a good thing! It gave me more room to do custom framing in the back of my booth. Each vendor had their favorite spot depending on their needs.

Even though I was set back, I could still see all the way across the street to the vendors on the other side. Another reason why I loved my spot!

Here is a close up of my bird cage lights. They are mostly hung in my tent for decoration, but for this festival they shined so bright during the late hours of the show!

I have a DIY Post on how I made these lights if you would like to know how to make them for yourself!

Most shows end before nightfall, but for the occasional show that goes intothe night extra lighting is a must!

My bird cage lights look great, but I also needed two extra rows of track lighting attached to the center pole in my canopy to properly light up my entire booth display. It’s also important to bring extra extension cords to these kinds of shows!

Below are some examples of what other vendors use for lighting. Some of the light displays are as unique as the handmade items the vendors make!

Having a well lit booth is so important to attract those late night shoppers!

The next day it rained.

However, it didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the festivities.

We love shows where the people still shop in the rain!

Luckily the rain didn’t last long and the sun came out to finish off the show.

This festival is quite large, however, I was unable to break away from my booth to capture photos of the amazing food section, and other events that were going on. I guess you will just have to come and discover it all for yourself!

The Yarmouth Clam Festival is a three day event in July. This show is well worth going to if your are within driving distance or visiting Maine and looking for something fun to do! Most of the vendors are from Maine making this festival an excellent place to find handmade goods from Maine, and New England artisans!
