Mixing your own black paint in watercolors is something every watercolor artist should know how to do. I know that may sound silly when you can simply buy black watercolor paint, but there was a time long ago when a watercolor palette did not come with the color back, and it was normal to mix your own. In this video I’ll show you ways to mix your own vibrant and luminous black that can be built up with multiple layers, giving your paintings a rich glow.
For those of you that find it easier to simply buy the black already made, thats okay too. This video will also teach you how to add a warmth or coolness to your store bought black which is very helpful when you want to customize the colors in your paintings.
Hopefully you will find this video helpful as you learn to blend and mix your watercolor paints!
